It is most probable that other countries will have similar views and rather than use the USA Model or the English Model will be thinking about adopting the Chinese Model or the Japanese Model. Whatever, through increasing reliance on colleges and intelligent machines the skills normally passed on to the upcoming ( and replacement ) work force has been neglected.

The introduction of electronic drafting and design tools to the industry has led to both positive and negative effects, one of which is to cloud the understanding by young engineers
Before the introduction of electronic drafting techniques, engineering drawings were drafted by skilled personnel whose hand writing was an art form. The hand drafting of drawing s was superseded by the rise of drafting using electronic drawing tools. It is not correct to think that 3D has superseded 2D. drafting across all industries. It was a design house dream to be able to able to circumvent all the intermediate disciplines between the Process Engineering and the final drawing that are issued for construction ( in electronic format) . The reality is that the 2D is used to provide the appropriate engineering information to the disciplines at which point the disciplines all input to a model generated in 3D. The 3D model can then be shown on a large screen and what is projected onto the screen exactly what the final construction would appear in reality. The model is reviewed by the Client and designers to ensure the engineering has covered the total scope of work whilst maintaining high standards of safety.
The 3D model, having been cleared, is released to the constructors at which point all the detailed 2D drawing are issued to the fabricators for fabrication
